WAVERLEY WRITERS OF FOWL REPORT to FOWL (Friends of Waverley Library) COMMITTEE, December 2017
Waverley Writers of FOWL held its 31st meeting on the 3rd Sunday of December from 2-4 pm in the Theory Room in Waverley Library. There were 8 people at this meeting, which Anne Skyvington convened. At the start, we happily welcomed a new member to our fold. Three years ago, when Waverley Writers began, we had no idea how successful this fledgling group would be!
Each of our participants, including our new member, presented a piece of writing to this feedback session. This included 5 polished novel excerpts, 2 stimulating book reviews and I presentation written for radio, which we, as an audience, thoroughly enjoyed. It was another fruitful meeting with timekeeping ensuring that all had the opportunity to participate.
This being our third pre-Christmas meeting, Anne had asked what kind of session the group would like. The members opted for a normal feedback session with those wishing to celebrate going on to a coffee or a drink afterwards. At 4pm, four of us were able to wander off to Eastgate Shopping Centre for a coffee and a good Christmassy chat.
As always, there will be no meeting in January.
Our next meeting will take place on Sunday the 18th of February 2018, from 2-4pm in the Theory Room in Waverley Library. We wish all our writers a good festive and holiday season and are looking forward to seeing members at the library in February.
